The Role of a Wound Care Nurse at Classic LifeCare

By September 18, 2023Moments
Vancouver Wound Care Nurse

Our dedicated wound care nurse, Sheetal, was recently recognized as the August Employee of the Month at Classic LifeCare. Joining our Vancouver team in June, Sheetal passionately describes her role as “fulfilling, enjoyable, and exciting“. Despite the short amount of time, she has already expanded her skillset and values the opportunity to continue learning. Classic LifeCare provides a large online education academy for employees to further develop their knowledge and skills.

Her calling as a nurse was always clear: “By becoming a nurse, I get to help people recover every day and find a new norm in their lives following a wound. Not only am I helping to improve the quality of my client’s lives, but I also find the role of a wound care nurse rewarding and meaningful.”

Sheetal credits her desire to set a great example for her children and her want to support people as her career inspiration. Before joining Classic LifeCare, she worked as an LPN in a long-term care facility.

Working as a Wound Care Nurse at Classic LifeCare

Sheetal primarily focuses on wound care in her role at Classic LifeCare. She conducts the client’s initial assessments, documenting information about their injuries or wounds. She relays this information to a Clinical Nurse Supervisor who creates a personalized care plan for each client.

Sheetal plays a pivotal role in the recovery process, implementing wound care and delivering exceptional support to aid her clients’ healing journey. “I love the connections I build with my clients. What I love most about my role is listening to their stories and experiences. It means a lot to me that they are comfortable to share their life experiences with me.”

Sheetal values the flexibility in her role at Classic LifeCare. Working as a wound care nurse enables her to choose days and hours that align with her lifestyle. This promotes a healthy work-life balance that allows her to prioritize family time. She also expresses gratitude for the support she receives from the Clinical team in the office whenever she has questions.

Classic Praises Sheetal for her Excellent Work

Although Sheetal is a recent recruit for Classic LifeCare, she has proven to be an asset to our Vancouver team. Her recognition as Employee of the Month underscores her dedication, ambition, and the outstanding level of care she provides to her clients.

Malisha, the CNS Lead in Vancouver, offers her praise for Sheetal:

We are impressed by Sheetal’s thorough documentation and her proficient communication, both with her clients and the office team. Her clients greatly appreciate her expertise and the exceptional care she delivers. We are so happy to have Sheetal on our team and we value all her contributions.
