As part of Classic Cares, our teams in Calgary and Vancouver recently took part in writing handwritten letters for seniors. We joined forces with Love for Our Elders, a wonderful organization that spreads love and companionship to lonely seniors by delivering letters of love. This organization was founded in Vancouver in 2013. They have successfully sent over 250,000 letters to seniors around the world.
According to Love for Our Elders, “Everyone deserves a mailbox full of love letters and we are on a mission to make that happen.” Each month, the organization releases personal profiles on their website, providing descriptions of individuals who would greatly appreciate a letter.
Handwritten Letters Make a Positive Impact
To support this meaningful cause, our Calgary and Vancouver teams took a break from their daily duties and transformed our boardrooms into creative hubs. They unleashed their creativity and wrote inspirational letters for seniors in need. The goal was to let these elders know that someone is thinking of them.
The letters were filled with love, positivity, and encouragement. Colourful stickers were added to brighten up the recipients’ day and put a smile on their face. To facilitate further communication, our employees provided their names and the Classic office address, should any of the elders wish to respond.
Giving Back Through Classic Cares
The activity was met with great enthusiasm and collaboration. We recently launched Classic Cares as our corporate giving program. Through Classic Cares, we will actively participate in community events and initiatives. We look forward to participating in more community activities and helping others.
