Classic LifeCare will be growing home care in Calgary after acquiring Signature Care.
Sue Bessant, the owner of Signature Care, has only good things to say about home care in Calgary. She ran the business with her husband John.
“I think we’ve been fortunate to serve the Calgary community and extraordinarily pleased with everyone we’ve met,” says Sue. “We’ve served a lot of wonderful clients over the years.”
Home Care in Calgary Transition
Having grown the business from the ground up, Sue and John weren’t going to hand it over to just anybody. Signature Care won several awards over the years which prove that they provided excellent home care. They wanted to find a company that was established in Calgary that holds the same standards as they had.
“When we started looking to sell, we were looking for a company that has similar values,” says Sue. Most importantly, that meant finding a company that takes a personal approach to home care and gets to know their clients as individuals.
“I think that first of all, our relationships are number one,” says Sue. “Not only with the client, but with their families as well.”
Sue and John felt that Classic LifeCare was the best fit. John Sherwood, CEO of Classic LifeCare, is proud to welcome Signature Care into the Classic LifeCare family.
“I first met Sue and John at a Stampede lunch about five years ago,” says John. “From the start, it was clear they were great people – service-oriented, smart and ethical people who’d built a great health care company for the right reasons.”
As she looks ahead to retirement, Sue still plans to keep herself very busy.
Sue plans to continue volunteering with wildlife, hiking, golfing and spending time with her husband. Looking back over the years, Sue is grateful for the people Signature Care has served.
“It’s been an honour to get to know each and every one of them and their families and to be able to establish wonderful relationships,” she says.
She’s also thankful for the dedication of Signature Care’s staff, who she says are “just simply the best.”
