New Comox Team Member

Our Classic LifeCare Comox team welcomes Ashley as Clinical Operations Manager. She brings a great wealth of clinical knowledge and skill to Classic LifeCare. We are excited to learn from her and service more of the Comox Valley community.

A Desire to Help Others from a Young Age

Originating from Quebec, Ashley helped raise her siblings in her early years. She got her first job at 13 years old, which influenced her hard work ethic. Ashley has always had a passion for helping others, making nursing an obvious career choice:

It seemed like anyone that needed support with daily tasks or care would ask me for advice. I noticed that helping others was a strength of mine, therefore I applied for a role as a Health Care Aide.

After working as a Health Care Aide for 10 years, Ashley decided to go to Nursing school to become a Registered Nurse. Over the years, she gained great experience in a variety of environments including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and assisted care.

Comox Captured Ashley’s Heart

Following her graduation, Ashley moved to Regina, Saskatchewan and then Chilliwack, British Columbia to work as a Travel Nurse. Helping others thrive in their own home gives her job satisfaction.

I love making a difference in people’s lives and helping to improve their quality of life. I am passionate about keeping clients at home for as long as possible.

In January, Ashley moved to Comox to work as a Travel Nurse. She instantly fell in love with the area and the small-town feel.

Comox seemed like the perfect fit. I love the outdoors, especially walking, hiking, and swimming. It’s the perfect place to raise my children who are my everything!

Welcoming New Opportunities and Challenges

When asked what attracted her to the Clinical Operations Manager role, Ashley explains:

This position at Classic LifeCare brings new opportunities. I am looking forward to influencing others on the Comox team and being involved in policy development, decision-making, and change management. My focus is to provide the best possible care to the Comox Valley community.

Ashley’s role will include supporting and mentoring Healthcare Workers, assisting with nursing-related inquiries, completing client home visits, managing client progress reports, and managing the overall operations at our Classic LifeCare Comox branch.

Ashley will be an Asset to our Comox Team

We are delighted to welcome Ashley to our Classic LifeCare Comox team. She comes with great nursing experience and knowledge in various aspects of healthcare. We are looking forward to working with Ashley and hearing her ideas so we can provide the best possible care for the Comox community. Already, she is very eager to learn about Classic LifeCare and the community.– says Cathy Lee, Classic LifeCare Service Leader.

This week we hosted the first Comox Open House. Ashley had the opportunity to meet people and she looks forward to more interactions.
