Run for the Cure: Calgary 2012
The Calgary Canadian Breast Cancer CIBC Run for the Cure was an amazing gathering of people. The crowd arrived in the early morning sporting outrageous pink attire, ribbons, bows, tutus and spandex. Even the men came adored in frilly pink attire. It was a laugh but also an inspiration to see so much hope floating in the air.
As the clock struck 9 a.m., more than 800 participants bolted from the start line. The course took us through a suburban neighbourhood where residents took to the street to cheer us all on. There were many inspiring installations along the way to keep the energy up: a high school marching band, a hilarious fake mammogram station, banners of pink bras, decorated pink homes and even a garage band rocking out to get us to the finish line. With crowds and support like this, it was no wonder that Calgary alone raised $1.55 million.
We're already training for 2013, will you join us?
