This may include downsizing from a house to a condo, hiring a home care provider, moving to an assisted living facility and planning for who manages your affairs during your lifetime and when you die.

Employee of the Month - Alberta

Congratulations to Classic LifeCare health care worker Gail, who is Alberta's employee of the month.

Gail has been with Classic LifeCare in Calgary since 2010. She has worked with all levels of client care from end-of-life care to pediatric care, live-in care and live-out care.

Gail brings happiness and compassion to everyone she meets and even takes last-minute shifts with a smile. For Halloween, she spends about two hours on her makeup and costume to lift the spirits of her clients. 

Nona Will Returns to Philippines Following Typhoon Devastation

The devastation in the Philippines caused by Typhoon Haiyan on Nov. 9 hit home, literally, for Classic LifeCare health care worker Nona.

Originally from the Philippines, Nona followed the aftermath of the typhoon on CNN last week. As she watched the images of destruction with an elderly client she cares for, both of them fought back tears. Days went by before Nona heard if everyone was accounted for.

Classic LifeCare Welcomes 20-year-old Victoria Home Care Business into the Family

After 20 successful years in business, A1 People Care Ltd. in Victoria, BC, is handing the reins over to Classic LifeCare to continue to provide home health care services on Vancouver Island.

A1, started in 1993 by Fran Pelton, a registered nurse, was taken over by her daughter and son-in-law, Lori Ann and Dan Harsent in 2006.

Relief for the Philippines

Help Classic LifeCare support relief efforts in the Philippines following the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan on Nov. 9.

An estimated 10,000 people were killed by the typhoon, which, if confirmed, would make this the deadliest natural catastrophe on record in the Philippines.
