ALS Society of BC - 27th Annual ALS Memorial Golf Tournament
Although the economy has challenged us to think outside the box for new ways to raise funds, caregivers do not get a break from the economy, ALS or the emotional stress it puts on them. We know from personal experience and that's why we are motivated more than ever to work hard to ensure support for caregivers and people living with ALS.
On June 4th, 2013 at Richmond Country Club, we will host the 27th Annual ALS Memorial Golf Tournament.
This tournament is a major fundraiser for the ALS Society of BC. 70 per cent of the proceeds go towards patient care and 30 per cent towards the George "Sonny" Williams Endowment Fund. George Williams died from ALS on Tuesday, January 30, 1996 at 12:20 am.
The George "Sonny" Williams Endowment Fund was established in 2003 to support caregivers of people living with ALS. In 2012, because of your support, four (6) Caregiver Days were sponsored in the Okanagan, Lower Mainland, Fraser Valey and Vancouver Island funded by the interest accrued from the fund.
"Having a family member with ALS can be very isolating. Getting together with others who are experiencing the same journey is very supportive. The situation can't change but to have someone who understands what you are going through makes a difference. Thank you". - Caregiver
